English Workshop and Activity: Valentine's Day

 8th February

St Valentine's Day Workshop

"love is in the air"

Cupid struck his arrow our way! Our  EWAC students participated in a lovely Valentine's workshop to get that kind and caring attitude flowing.

We learned all about the story of St. Valentine, and how the tradition of the "letter from your Valentine" all started.

We never miss out on an opportunity to expand our students' English abilities with idioms and expressions .... we explored romantic heartfelt expressions to say to our loved ones along with Valentine Poems.

And the cherry on top of the cake: we handcrafted our own St. Valentine cards with love.

Booster: What are your New Year's Dreams?

For our first Booster and English Workshop and Activity session of the New Year, we imagined and wrote down our goals and dreams for 2021.

Calendar

Description automatically generated

I wonder what this boy is thinking as he looks at his calendar...

What are our hopes, dreams, wishes, and goals for the new year?

First, we discussed what New Year's Resolutions are. We don't really make those!

But there certainly are things we want more of in the year ahead.

We took time to draw the things we want more of in 2021, and then we presented and labelled our drawings. We will keep them as a reminder of what to keep in our lives throughout the year.

We decided we want:

    An end to Covid,

    More parties with our friends,

More time cooking with our parents,

A lot of us want to learn new recipes, like Tiramisu!

And of course, we want to travel the world again!

We want there to be peace in people's lives.

May all our wishes come true.

English Morning lessons : Citizenship

 19th November

Citizenship: Stereotypes no thanks!

Our year 3 Scuola Media students are always learning about current events in order to have a better understanding of what's happening around them and what better way to do so by learning this information in English the world's international language of communication.

George Fylod's death on May 15th allowed this blindfold to be removed from the world and we could not stop to just listen but also to educate our student on this matter.

We educated our students on where the term stereotype originally came from.

How systemic racism is corrupting systems all around the world and not giving each human equal opportunities.

Our students were incredibly interested in this topic so much that we created a video collage of all our student's voices and opinions on this matter.

We believe in equal rights and equal treatment for all.

English Workshop and Activity: Comic Creations

Monday, 16th November 2020

EWAC

Comic Creations: Read and Jot your own awesome comic strip on planets.

This workshop was full of colorful conversation, illustration and idioms.

Our fantastic EWAC students created their own comic strips inspired by Frank and Ernest comics.

Our students read and explored the use of funny wordplay along with interesting facts on our planet.

We read multiple Frank and Ernest comics that allowed us to enhance our knowledge of idioms and expressions whilst supplying us with interesting facts on the solar system.
